HIMALAYAN SNOW FESTIVAL

 We have been arranging for 3 years this one of its kind 5 days visit to a himalayan village called 'kotgaon' in the uttarkashi district of uttarakhand.

 

Experience the unique pahadi festivals, that run from 9th january to 14th january.

 

At this time mostly it snows in heavily and locals cannot do anything but celebrate the fresh snow for their apple orchards.

They make such great and unique food. Ranging from namkeen kheer to roasted lamb and blood sausage.

Stay in spacious swiss tents and hometstays, single, couples and families are welcomed.

 

You have to reach dehradun from there we will pick you up and give you an experience of lifetime.

 

Day 1. 8th january Reach dehradun in the morning, we will travel to kotgaon, approximately 7 to 8 hour drive, 200km via mussorie and reach kotgaon in the evening.

 

Day 2. Start of the festival, go around with our local and humble tour guide and explore snow laden surroundings, beautifull wooden houses, all year around jharnasand eat the unique pahadi food and a special dish everyday which is prepared in the festivals

 

Day 3. Group activities, games and hikes. Eat that days special dish, dance with the locals in the evening, a kind of community dance. Explore the local produce that is grown there

 

Day 4. It is the day of lamb, see how its done, a community bonfire and barbeque of lamb and blood sausages - a speciality of the region called 'Andre'.

 

Day 5. Bid a goodbye to all the newly made himalayan friends and head back to dehradun.
